Women on the Edge of the World...

Hello Lovelies!

I hope you are all doing well out there today. As usual, a ton of things are going on in this part of the world and I can't wait to share them with you!

To start, I had a great time shooting the rest of my Last One Standing series up in the Maine woods yesterday. We had a gorgeous early-spring day and I got to play with a big group of people (models, crew, makeup people and some dogs) and create some great photography. (Plus, there were snacks, which, I mean, that makes anything good, doesn't it?) I will be editing those shots this week and entering them into the FOAM Magazine contest just in time for the April 1st deadline. If you're local, some of the work will also be displayed in a gallery in Brunswick later this year! Details to follow... Until then, here are some makeup teasers to whet your appetite. Video to follow as well.

There's no rest for this girl, however. I have another exciting (and hilarious) shoot this weekend that involves big, hairy men wearing mermaid tails and sitting out on the beach looking fetching. Oh yes, it's ludicrous (especially considering that's how the entire crew is spending their Easter Sunday), but normal is boring, and besides, any time you can get a man in spandex, hilarity ensues...

What else? Oh! I also just listed a ton of new items over at STAG for those fashion-conscious Bucks out there. Great items this time, including a rare, 1940's coal miner's helmet complete with Ray-O-Vac light and battery pack that was used in a recent shoot, a great pair of men's horn rim glasses from the 1960's (also used in multiple shoots) and a beautiful Harris Tweed dress coat for the ladies! (I rarely list girl things, but this coat was just too nice not to offer my customers.) Remember, Father's Day will be here before you know it!

I also took some new shots of the studio over the weekend. A lot has changed in there since I first photographed it upon move-in over a year ago and I like to keep things fresh and up-to-date. As I mentioned on the Stapelia page over the weekend, I am very lucky to have such a cozy, classy workspace for clients and guests. If you're local, or visiting, and want to see the space, please shoot me a message, my door is always open!

So, I finally saw Oz The Great and Powerful recently and aside from a crazy audience member who made things a bit surreal, I really enjoyed it. Have you guys seen it yet? The cinematography was beautiful and of course, if you like the Oz story, the characters are over the top and amazing. There were some corny moments, but overall, I would recommend it!

Plus, this china doll was so cute I wanted to squeeze her the entire movie...
I'll wrap with this shot I took over the weekend of a snow fort I found in a neighborhood in Portland. Just sitting there, looking amazing and magical on a sunny, chilly spring day. Ah, what a nice city Portland is...

Until next time: unpleasant dreams...
